I'm often asked "Which antivirus is the best?".  We use a variety of AV solutions: Microsoft Security Essentials, Symantec Corporate, Trend Micro, AVG, and others, depending on the device(s) and the situation.

The 'best' antivirus is frequently the latest one released.  Fortunately, the teams at AV-Comparatives and Virus Bulletin put the various programs through comparative tests.  Check out these sites to see which you think is the 'best'.

A customer called about their Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop not being able to boot into XP.  The machine would perform the POST and start the boot process but would flash a message, the screen would go blank, and the machine would just sit there - no hard drive activity, no spinning CD, nothing.  We could F12 into the boot menu and run diagnostics (which passed).  We could F8 to the boot menu and select any option we wanted but nothing would happen.
